Flake & CO. will assist with the strategic planning, administration,and control of a project during its development life cycle, from project planning, construction completion and project fulfillment. As Development managers, we are responsible for overall project delivery, contractor tendering, and design management. The overarching goal is to maintain project oversight and to stay on budget.

Flake & CO. is a trusted advisor who will assist the buyer in a commercial property transaction and advocates on their behalf during negotiations to purchase an asset in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas.

Flake & CO. will act as the leasing agent that represents the best interests of the owner or landlord. We will assist in determining the best economic outcome for the landlord. For example, we will discuss the landlord’s long-term objectives for the property and assess whether it is better to have a lower rent and abated tenant improvement allowance, or higher rent and higher allowance for the tenant. We will examine the long-term implications of leasing decisions.

Company History

Flake & Company’s origins go back to the Great Depression when, in 1932, Charles Leon Flake formed a real estate company whose primary focus was the residential sector. Sons Dickson and John joined their father’s business, transitioned to it to mainly commercial real estate, then proceeded to earn the distinction as one of Arkansas’ most respected and trusted names in real estate!In 1979, John Flake, a true visionary, ventured away from Dickson to form his own commercial real estate company. Through the years that followed, John Flake amassed a portfolio of some of the most impressive and notable buildings/projects in the region. In 2012, Jessica Flake Dearnley, John’s Daughter and Leon Flake’s Granddaughter, joined her father as Principal Broker & Exec VP in NWA, bringing a depth of real estate experience along with her extensive analytical background in related fields (MBA, Master’s Degree in Accounting, Certified Financial Analyst, and Realtor licenses in AR-TX-OK-MO). In early 2020, Jessica advanced the family’s 88-year real estate legacy by forming Flake & Company, with her father John Flake accompanying her on that journey! With her CFA and (soon-to-be) Master’s Degree in Finance, in addition to an MBA and Accounting Degree, Jessica is uniquely qualified in managing diversification and overall asset allocation.She excels at working closely with financial advisors to provide diversification to an investor’s overall portfolio and making recommendations in commercial real estate.
